Holly Roberts
Holly Roberts is a visual artist who lives and works in New Mexico. Combining printmaking, painting, and photography, Roberts explores her rich and varied inner world and strong connection to nature. The storytelling aspect of Roberts’s art is continually evident—from inner terrors brought to the surface in works such as Bad Father to the mythological symbolism in many of her animal-based imagery. Snakes, dogs, birds, horses, and rabbits are subjects that repeat throughout her work. It is through her art that Roberts grapples with the imperfection of the world around her.
Roberts received her MFA from Arizona State University in 1981. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums like Turner Carroll Gallery, Zan Bennett Gallery, the Eleanor D. Wilson Museum of Art, the Oceanside Museum of Art, the Tucson Museum of Art, Penland Gallery, the Museum of Albuquerque, Robert Koch Gallery, and the San Diego Museum of Art.
