Mark Swope
Mark Swope was a photographer who lived and worked in Los Angeles, California. His work examined the Los Angeles landscape and the decay of its many American myths due to rampant urbanization.
Swope received his BFA from Immaculate Heart College in 1974 and his MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1978. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums like VeniceArts, the Museum of Neon, Topo Swope Gallery, Jan Baum Gallery, and the Art Garden. His work belongs to several collections like the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Hammer Museum, and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art.
