Nancy Monk

Nancy Monk’s playfully fresh and wisely naïve approach to artmaking always surprises with its sheer joy and unaffected simplicity. Her images—often trees, flowers, or curious shapes sprouting stick-like feet—are combinations of paint, collage, miniature reproductions of her own works, and even an odd tiny cashmere sweater that was shrunk to an unbelievably small size. Many of her shows follow a single color theme a la Yves Klein. Monk lives and works in Venice, California.
