Opening Reception & Artist Talk: February 22, 2pm

In the ongoing aftermath of one of the worst disasters in the history of Los Angeles, we seek to directly benefit the artists affected by the Eaton and Palisades Fires with an exhibition of their works, for which they will receive 100% of the proceeds.

This exhibition, Out of the Ashes, began as a direct fire relief effort, but quickly evolved into an opportunity for artists to share personal stories and responses to this unprecedented moment in our collective experience. Curated by Craig Krull and Douglas Marshall, the exhibition runs from February 19 to March 1. It includes work by over thirty L.A. artists, interpretive statements from each of them, and an artist talk moderated by Hannah Sloan on February 22, with an opening reception to follow.

Participating artists: Natalia Berglund, Kevin Cooley, Michael Deyermond, Carol Erb, Malado Francine, Michael Freitas Wood, James Griffith, Salomon Huerta, Beanie Kaman, John Knuth, Augustine Kofie, Aline Mare, Kim McCarty, Kelly McDonald, Ana Morales, Laura Parker, Cleon Peterson, Phranc, Mary Anna Pomonis, Mark Posey, Rebecca Puga, Milo Reice, Delbar Shabaz, Matthew Shallenberger, Joshua Simpson, William Stranger, Gay Summer Rick, Jane Szabo, Camilla Taylor, Elizabeth Tremante, Dani Tull, Philip Vaughan, and Eric Zammitt

Out of the Ashes is an event of the Bergamot Tenants Association, with support from the City of Santa Monica, Rising Realty Partners, and Berman Art Projects.
