Robert Ginder
My work is about re-contextualizing the prosaic and common day experience by using, in a completely natural way, age and history to create a venerable artifact that elicits respect for the subject matter that ordinarily we would see as mundane. Whether a European icon, Spanish colonialism, Religious art or Asian art filtered through Tonalism or a little Post Impressionism, these influences if they further the feeling I want and are right, I embrace .
To me anything and any Art that exists while I’m alive is contemporary and relevant. If it adds to the story I’m telling, I use it.
